Four Friday Thoughts On Anxiety

Anxiety is a common mental health concern that can manifest in various areas of one's life, often triggered by specific situations or environments.

In my work helping people dissolve anxiety, I notice some pretty common things.  In today's "Four Friday Thoughts," I want to share some of the top areas where people experience anxiety. I'll also give you some quick advice on dealing with anxiety.

Workplace Anxiety: People often feel anxious in professional settings, stemming from pressure to meet performance expectations, fear of job loss, or interpersonal conflicts at work.

One of the things I talk about with my clients is that workplace anxiety can significantly impact your overall work performance and needs to be resolved promptly.

When you're constantly stressed at work, it can dampen your productivity, reduce job satisfaction, and may even lead to burnout. Therefore, it's essential to find effective strategies to manage stress and anxiety at work.

So, we focus on addressing these issues to not only enhances mental wellbeing but also boosts professional growth and success. It's time you took control and showed workplace anxiety the exit door for a more fulfilling career ahead.

Social Anxiety: This involves intense fear or apprehension about social situations, often related to feelings of embarrassment, self-consciousness, or fear of judgement by others.

I think it's important to realize that overcoming social anxiety isn't just about feeling comfortable at parties or making small talk. It's about much more than that.

It's about empowering yourself in all areas of your life. Imagine feeling confident when you're meeting new people or giving a class presentation, and even when you're just hanging out with friends. When you start to manage your social anxiety, you can feel better about yourself and even improve your relationships.

In fact, overcoming social anxiety can also boost your performance at school or work, as you'll be able to communicate more effectively and contribute ideas without fear. Indeed, by showing social anxiety the door, you open up a whole new world of opportunities and experiences. So let's work together to kick social anxiety out of your life.

Health Anxiety: This refers to excessive worrying about having a serious illness, despite medical reassurance, often leading to frequent health check-ups and scanning body for signs of illness.

When you're always worried about your health, it can be like a dark cloud hanging over your head. You might be thinking you're sick, even when doctors tell you you're fine. This constant worry can drain your energy, making you feel tired all the time. But, guess what? By overcoming health anxiety, you can actually gain that energy back.

Think about it this way: if you're not spending all your time worrying about your health, you will have more energy to do the things you love. You'll be able to focus better on your work or school, spend quality time with your family, or even take up a new hobby. In effect, beating health anxiety can give you a new lease of life, making you feel more vibrant and energetic. So, let's work together to say goodbye to health anxiety and welcome a more energetic, worry-free you!

Relationship Anxiety: This type of anxiety is common in intimate relationships and can stem from fear of abandonment, emotional vulnerability, or past relationship traumas.

If you're always feeling unsure, worried, or fearful in your relationship, then you're likely dealing with relationship anxiety. This can make it hard for you to trust others and fully enjoy your relationships. You may find yourself constantly worrying about rejection or breakups, which can hold you back from experiencing true happiness.

The good news is, you can overcome relationship anxiety! Think about what it would be like if you could trust your partner completely, feel secure in your relationship, and just enjoy being together. It would free up so much energy that you're currently putting into worrying.

What do I tell my clients? This: Just like the other types of anxiety, overcoming relationship anxiety can make your life more fulfilling.

You'll feel more at ease in your relationships, and can enjoy deeper connections with the people you love. This can lead to better communication, more trust, and stronger bonds. So, let's work together to beat relationship anxiety, and open up the door to more fulfilling relationships and a happier you.

How to beat anxiety in the moment?

When anxiety strikes, one simple but effective strategy is to engage in deep breathing exercises. Deep, controlled breathing sends a signal to your brain to calm down and relax, helping to reduce feelings of panic and tension.

Here's a simple technique I recommend: Close your eyes and take a slow, deep breath in for a count of four. Hold your breath for a count of seven, and then exhale slowly for a count of eight. Repeat this cycle several times until you begin to feel calmer. Incorporating deep breathing exercises into your daily routine can also be beneficial in managing long-term anxiety.

And while that is important, it might not be enough.

One of the strategies I use to to dissolve anxiety is actually found in the free first class of the Dissolve Anxiety Protocol™, which you can access for yourself by clicking here, as well as other very powerful strategies that you will find in the Dissolve Anxiety Protocol™ course.

I have even helped people who are not my clients, such as a young girl who was terrified waiting for a flight at an airport that I was at recently.

Her look of amazement was priceless when I quickly showed her the strategies, and her fear of flying disappeared within literally seconds, replaced by feeling calm and in control.

The strategy that you'll find in the Dissolve Anxiety Protocol™ class is great to use for any type of anxiety or feelings of uncontrollable stress.
